Information Labels

Reading the label or tag on your new plant:

Most plants will have a label on it giving you direction on how to care of your plant.

Here are the basics for you:
















Some labels will also give you planting tips, outstanding features and companion plants for your plant so make sure you read your labels and know your plants.

•	The label will usually have a picture of the plant on it.
•	The common name of the plant
•	The botanical name of the plant
•	Exposure level to the sun (full sun / partial sun / shade)
•	Spacing number of feet apart from one another (if you are planting with others)
•	Cold hardiness that the plant can withstand
•	Growth rate on how fast the plant will grow
•	Pruning the plant - if recommended - and how often
•	Fertilization - when the best time is to do so
•	Size - the adult size the plant will become
•	Water usage - how much to water your new plant
